Delfina Catalina Oyanguren Rodriguez

LAYTON – Delfina Catalina Oyanguren Rodriguez passed away on April 22, 2016.  She was 91 years old.

Delfina was born on April 30, 1924 in San Pedro de LLoc in the North of Peru, the daughter of Artemio Oyanguren and Obdulia Rodriguez.  In Peru she lived in Trujillo, Samanco, and Chimbote.  The last six years of her life she lived with her daughter in Layton, Utah, USA.

Delfina was a member of the Catholic Church.  She worked for and retired from a Tuna Factory in Chimbote Peru caring for the homes of the factory owners and was an archive worker for the company.  Delfina was a hard worker in life raising nine children and three nieces.  She taught her children the value of honesty and hard work in life.

Delfina enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and flower gardening.  In life she had nine children, 28 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Mercedes Oyanguren, her son Roberto Noriega, and her daughter Miriam Raquel Diaz.

She is survived by her children Felipe Diaz, Cesar Diaz, Roger Pizarro, Nancy Page, Juana Merino, Mercedes Diaz and Lidia Peterson.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
