Delia M. Laburada

Delia M. Laburada, 92, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on May 6, 1925 the daughter of Perfilio Martinez and Altagracia Seguro. She was raised in New Mexico.

She met her future husband, Regino L. Laburada through a cousin. After courting for several years they were married on New Year’s Eve in 1941 in San Miguel, New Mexico. They later settled in Layton, Utah.  They raised their beautiful family of four daughters and one son in Davis County.

Delia was a devoted homemaker and family was the most important aspect of her life. She loved to care for her grandchildren, enjoyed music, and dancing, and was known for her beautiful embroidery and her amazing homemade tortillas.

Delia was friendly, outgoing, and colorful. She was a complimentary person who made others feel important and loved. Birthdays and holidays were very important for her. Mom, we love you with all of our hearts and will be deeply missed.

Delia is survived by her children, Marjorie (Robert) LaFramboise, Clearfield; UT; Betty Winegar, Bountiful, UT; Melinda Miller, Clearfield, UT; Robert Laburada, Madera, CA; and Julie (Lynn) Burton, Morgan, UT; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Regino; parents, sister, Maria Edadiz; and a great-grandson, Nathan Varney.

At Delia’s request, private services were held at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where she was laid to rest. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
