Della Marriott East

NORTH OGDEN- Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Della Marriott East, 98, passed away at her home on September 28, 2012, surrounded by her daughter and granddaughters.

Della was born in Warren, Utah on May 20, 1914, the second of twin daughters to George Parley and Sarah Charlton Marriott. She attended school in Plain City and lived her entire life in Weber County. Della married her sweetheart, Harvey N. East, on November 9, 1932. Harvey passed away in April of 2003. They spent 70 wonderful years together.

She retired from Hill Air Force Base after 22 years as a payroll clerk. She enjoyed reading, dancing, horseback riding, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends in Mackay, Idaho. She was a member of the North Ogden 22nd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Della is survived by her daughter, Carol East Stanger of North Ogden; brother Harold Marriott of California; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey; son, Dallas Marriott East; sisters Ella Berrett, and Zelma Bouwhuis; and brother, LeRoy "Roy" Marriott.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
