Della LaRae Russell, 88, passed away in the early morning hours on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. She was born on August 23, 1929, the daughter of Eli Albert and Illa Artell McBride McEntire. Della was born and raised in Farr West, UT, and graduated from Weber High School.

Della was happily married to her sweetheart, Jack Edwin Russell for 43 years prior to his passing in 1991. They raised two lovely daughters together. She received her B.S. from the University of Delaware, suma cum laude and received her Masters of Elementary Education from Utah State University. She taught for 29 years; first in Roy and then in California, and for 27 years in Davis County at E.M. Whitesides Elementary.

She later married Milton Nelson and they enjoyed going on cruises together. Milton passed away after 14 years of marriage.

Della was a writer, a poet, and an artist. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully in many callings and shared her strong testimony of the Savior through word and deed.

Della is survived by her daughters, Roxanne (Wynn) Covieo, Ogden; and Michelle Harper, South Ogden; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Elaine Jensen, Farr West. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, parents, and brother, Lowell McEntire.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
