Deloa Dawn Glines Thurston 1932-2011

Bountiful a€" Dawn Thurston returned to her heavenly home on August 26, 2011. She was born December 15, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alden Claire Glines and Zelma Lauritzen Glines and is happy to be back with them. She was the oldest of five children and stayed close to her siblings, Jerry (Sue) Glines, Roger (Tena) Glines, Rick (Joyce) Glines, and Loanna (Dale) Caldwell.

Dawn married Robert Val Thurston on May 29, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had four children, Leigh Ann (DelRoi) Warnock, Kenny (Janeal) Thurston, Katie (Paul) Capshaw, and Mark (Kim) Thurston. She was a loving grandmother to 15 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

She was a BYU graduate with a Bachelor''s Degree in education. She taught elementary school in California and Salt Lake, putting her career on hold to get married and raise a family. Once the children were grown, she resumed teaching and taught for several years at Lincoln Elementary in Layton, Utah.

Dawn was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many leadership and teaching positions. She served as an ordinance worker in both the Salt Lake and Bountiful temples. Together with her husband, they served three missions for the Church, two at the Family History Center in Salt Lake and one in the San Francisco Mission as part of the Church Education System teaching institute classes.

The most important things in her life were the gospel of Jesus Christ and her family. She lived for times when her family could be around her and longed for the days when families all lived together.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, August, 31, 2011 at the Woods Cross 3rd Ward Chapel, 1450 S. 350 W. Bountiful, Utah. Friends may visit family Tuesday Aug. 30th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Wed. from 9:45 a€" 10:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment Lakeview Memorial, Bountiful.
