Delone Louis Hammer

May 3, 1934 ~ April 23, 2018

Our husband, father, and grandfather decided it was time to take his beloved dog Sunnie for a walk! Delone passed away on April 23, 2018 in Layton. He was born on May 3, 1934 to Louis and Wilma Osborne Hammer in Brigham City, Utah.

Delone married Joyce Bodrero on August 22, 1953. They had three children, Louis (LuAnn) Hammer, Patty (Earl) Berry, and Robert (Amy) Hammer.

Delone was known for his extremely hard work ethic. He taught his children to put in a good days work. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 38 years. If he wasn’t at work he was out in his garage working on a car.

He enjoyed restoring classic cars, walking through salvage yards, fishing, hunting, but most of all spending time with family.

Besides his wife and children, he is survived by 9 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Keith, Odell, Bill, and Charles Hammer; and sister, Sharon Hellier. He was preceded in death by Sunnie, his parents, and a brother, Dennis Hammer.

Our family would like to thank Alisa and Mariam from Symbii Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
