DeLores McClellan Brighton
January 26, 1931-January 26, 2015
DeLores Brighton was reunited with her husband, Homer, and loved ones on her 84th birthday, Monday, January 26, 2015. DeLores was born and raised in Grace, Idaho. After graduating from high school she attended Idaho State University in Pocatello where she met Homer through institute and ping pong. They were married in 1950 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They lived a few years in Boise and Paul, Idaho then moved to Utah were they resided for the duration of their lives. DeLores lived most of her married life in Sunset, Utah. Once her children were all in school, she worked for the Davis School District as a cook and was the head cook at Sunset Jr. High for many years. The past 18 years she resided in Kaysville, and for a short time in North Ogden, at the Quail Meadow Care Center.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a talented homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts, gardening, canning, and sports. Her grandchildren remember her for her great story telling. She had a positive attitude through her trials and was good at seeing the bright side of things. She was always interested and curious and wanted to know how her family members were doing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Homer Brighton, and an infant daughter, Barbara.
She is survived by five children, Bernice (David) Falls, Gregory (Jean) Brighton, Brent Brighton, Janet (Jeff) Davis, David Brighton, 16 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd., South Ogden, Utah.
