Delores Mae Spicer
Delores Mae Spicer, on May 16, 2013, at the age of 81, gently passed this life in her sleep and was reunited with her husband Jack Wayne Spicer Sr., her Heavenly Father, her Savior, and her beloved son Jerry Dana Spicer. Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend loved life and lived to serve others. She was born June 29, 1931 in Peru, Indiana to her proud parents Otto Elmer and Jeannette McNabney Kuntz. On the beautiful day of December 30, 1947 she married Jack Wayne Spicer. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 15, 1956.
Delores spent a lifetime nurturing and serving her family. After losing her first child, Jerry Dana at birth, she raised four children teaching them to love and live gospel centered lives. She loved the gospel and served unselfishly in it her entire life. She understood the eternal nature of the family and worked tirelessly doing genealogy, family history and temple work, for thousands of her kindred dead. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served in countless positions including Relief Society, Primary, Young Women''s, Family History, Genealogical Extraction and Sunday School. "He who is greatest among you is the servant of all." She was certainly one of the greatest among us.
She leaves behind her, two daughters Christina D. (Steve) Moon, Karen S. (George) Ulloa and two sons Jack (Tris) Spicer Jr., Mark D. (Debra) Spicer; two other daughters Teresa Parr and Nola Spicer; 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters; Theresa Margaret Higgs of Staten, Oregon; Mary Jane Collins of Grants Pass, Oregon; and one brother William James Kuntz of Kokomo, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Jack Wayne Spicer Sr.; son Jerry D. Spicer; great-granddaughter Chloe Faith Price.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield 5th Ward Chapel, 935 So. State Street, Clearfield, Utah. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
She will be greatly missed and forever adored. We love you and treasure the day when we will be reunited as an Eternal Celestial family. Love, your entire family.
