Deloris Smith Tafoya

Ogden - Deloris Smith Tafoya passed away peacefully in the presence of her family, and her beloved daughter Cora on Saturday April 21, 2012. She was born to Alvin Ambrose Smith and Cora Archibald Smith on June 12, 1930. She was born and raised in Plymouth, Utah. Deloris married Theodore "Ted" Tafoya and spent her life with him in Ogden, Utah. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Deloris was best known by all for her wonderful candy making, her talent with her crocheted crafts, and her love of the outdoors. Prior to the deterioration of her eyesight Deloris made many beautiful pieces through her talent with a crochet needle and those items will be cherished by her family along with the memories of receiving these precious gifts. She is survived by her beautiful daughter Cora Frost (Roy, Utah) 9 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 4 sisters, her husband Ted, son David, daughter Sheryl and granddaughter Tracy Lynn. Deloris leaves behind her daughter and grandchildren and her beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff on the critical care ward at McKay Dee Hospital and also the staff with Vista Hospice for their care, and compassion. Deloris spent her life building many amazing relationships and she has left a tremendous void to all she leaves behind. Your life of service is over Grandma, job well done. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary 3408 Washington Blvd. Family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, will be in Plymouth, Utah.
