DeLoy Bench

Bishop DeLoy E Bench residing in Layton, Utah passed away on January 11, 2017, at the age of 86 years old in Ogden, Utah.

He was born December 14, 1930.  His mother was Alberta Howarth and his father was Iren Grant Bench.

He married Joyce Janet Green on August 31, 1951 in Provo, Utah.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Bishop, High Councilman assigned to the youth, Caretaker of Lyman Lake Camp, Scout Leader and many more callings.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Bench and his children, Vickie Cardwell, Julie (Derek) Duchein, Kae (David) Lloyd, Mickie (Niel) Pace, Grant (Brenda) Bench, Jeff (Hilary) Bench, DeLoy Jr. (Lori) Bench, Joyce (Gary) Hunzeker, Jacob (Marlo) Bench, and Hollie (Eddie) Poboy; along with 140 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by Joanne and Carl Parsley, Lisa Bench and Adam Cardwell.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Aspen Cove Ward Chapel, 789 E. Wasatch Drive, Layton.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Provo City Cemetery, 610 So. State Street, Provo.
