Demont “Dee” Rogerson
OGDEN- Demont “Dee” Rogerson passed away at the age of 97, at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living South Ogden on Saturday September 17, 2011.
He was born January 30, 1914 in West Weber, Utah. Dee was the fifth of ten children born to Daniel E. Rogerson and Hannah Banche Telford.
He spent much of his youth in Fort Hall, Idaho where he attended school and worked on the family farm.
At the onset of World War II Dee enlisted in the USAF. He served as a technical sergeant and was stationed in Massachusetts, Delaware, Colorado, and Greenland.
He retired after twenty years of service.
Dee will be remembered for his quite unassuming manner, his generosity and love shown to his mother and family as well as to his nieces and nephews.
One of his favorite pass times was taking road trips to state parks and visiting his Idaho childhood home.
He was happiest when at home “puttering” and “tinkering”. Dee Always had a “project going on” in his garage.
He proudly assembled and erected a flagpole at West Weber Cemetery.
His annual vegetable garden was freely shared with family, friends and neighbors.
Dee was a caregiver to his mother and sister Margaret for many years.
We would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Mountain Ridge Assisted Living, for loving and dedicated care in Dee’s behalf. We would also like to thank Dignity Hospice for their encouragement and concern.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all siblings consisting of five sisters, Bertha R. Minnoch, Vera Mead, Margaret Rogerson, Blanche Williams and Ina Rogerson,; five brothers Howard E. Rogerson, Geroge Rogerson, John R. Rogerson and William D. Rogerson.
Dee is survived by his nephew and long time caregiver J Brent Minnoch and by his many nieces and nephews whom referred to him fondly as “Unky Dee”.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday September 20, 2011 11:00 a.m. at the West Weber Cemetery, 1000 N. 4600 W.
