Denise Irene Perry Leake
April 9, 1944 ~ July 20, 2015
Denise was born in Weaverville, CA to Robert Harry and Irene Mary (Dawson) Perry.
She grew up in Berkeley and Walnut Creek, CA. She has lived in Ogden for many years after relocating from Concord, CA.
Denise was an accomplished Ballerina, having danced in the San Francisco Ballet before moving to Honolulu, Hawaii where she graduated high school. She went on to earn a degree in psychology. She was a voracious reader and traveled the world through her books. Denise was self described as being “extremely analytical to the point of obsession, unable to get my head out of a book, even a bad one. A very positive, elderly nerd.”
Her working years were divided between the IRS office in Ogden as a statistical analyst, and Hill Air Force Base.
Denise was preceded in death by her brother Robin Wayne Perry, grandson Nicholas Ray Lowe and both her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband Fred Leake; her sister Pauline LaVerne (Lyle) Van Norman; children, Harlan Robin (Julieanne) Lowe, Monica (Pat) Lowe-Martin, David Wayne Hill (Carrie), Gayle (Chris) Leake-Perkins and Shelley (Todd) Leake-Street; grandchildren, Denver and Danielle Martin, Kaylin (Sam) Street-Feller, Tyler and Emily Street, Kendra, Kiersten, Blake and Garrett Perkins, and a great-grandchild, Siena Feller.
Denise was well loved by friends and family. She was known for her silent generosity, unconditional love, modesty and a listening heart. She will be greatly missed.

Private services were held previously at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd., South Ogden.
