Denise Joan Mehr was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away peacefully on November 27th, 2022, at the age of 94.
She was born in Great Falls, Montana to Joseph Smith and Esther La Valley Smith on March 16, 1928. Upon graduating from high school, Denise pursued her love of music at Utah State University where she met her husband, Glenn Mehr. After a memorable double wedding with her twin sister Daphne and her husband Keith Aller, Denise and Glenn were sealed in the Logan Utah Temple on Oct 10, 1947. Together they had 3 children: Kahlile Bliss, Quentin, and Benjamin.
Denise loved spending time with her family. She was skilled at the violin and guitar and gave lessons while raising her boys. She was an avid reader. Denise and Glenn traveled the world throughout their life together and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Birmingham, England. She loved telling her family how much she loved them and how good they looked. She was a light for all and made everyone feel they were important.
She is survived by her brother Joseph Smith of Savannah, Georgia, 12 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, grandson-in-law Heath Stroud, great granddaughter Eva Rose Bentley, and her sister Daphne Aller.
A viewing will be held on Friday Dec 2, 2022 from 6 – 8 pm at the Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. A graveside service is scheduled for December 3, 2022 at the Logan City Utah Cemetery at 2 pm.
