Dennis Wilbur Berrett
April 29, 1943 ~ August 18, 2018
Dennis Wilbur Berrett, 75, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018. He was born on April 29, 1943, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Wilbur H. and Doris Hill Berrett.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and received his Masters Degree from BYU.
Dennis had a passion for writing and directing. It was his dedication to this dream that won him the Gold Medal Film at the New York Film Festival in 1979. He went on to do extensive work in public broadcasting and advertising. Later in his life he ran a successful real estate appraisal company for fifteen years prior to retiring. But, of all his accomplishments, he was most proud to be a father and grandfather. Dennis was dedicated to his son for all of his life, always involved and supportive, providing constant help and sacrifice for his son to accomplish his career as an Emergency Physician. His defining characteristic is his selfless love and endless kindness for everyone. Regardless whether they were family, friend or stranger in need, Dennis was always able to see someone in need and offer whatever he could. He had no need for his own self when it came to others, and it is the example everyone that knew him will strive to emulate.
Dennis is survived by his son, Chris (Summer) of Herriman; three grandchildren, London-Rayn, Bodhi, and Jade Isabella; brother, Steven of South Ogden; and sisters, Diane of Centerville and Barbara of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents. `
