Dennis C. Gardner, 68, passed away from a sudden illness with his family at his side while at McKay-Dee Hospital on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 4:52 p.m.

He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on September 19, 1942, the son of Nathaniel and Zelda Gardner.

Dennis married Darlene Staggie on October 9, 1964, they were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple on October 13, 1984. In this union they were blessed with four children, Nick, Shawn, Kathy and Matt.

The highlight of Dennis'' life was golfing with his sons. He also enjoyed camping and fishing and telling his eight grandkids tall tales.

Dennis enlisted in the U.S. Navy when he was 17. He served on the USS Coral Sea and was stationed off the coast of Vietnam.

Upon being honorably discharged, he decided to go into a career in Finance. For the past 24 years he worked at Westland Ford, which became his second family. He especially enjoyed his time with his partner in crime, Mike.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 48 years, Darlene, three sons, a daughter, two daughters-in-law and eight grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, one brother and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 1st at 2 p.m. at the North Ogden 12th Ward, 1800 North 600 East in North Ogden, Utah.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 5th at 2 p.m. at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery in Rigby, Idaho.
