Dennis S. Mitchell

Dennis S. Mitchell, 61, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008 in Walnut Creek, California. He was a beloved grandfather whose wit and charm will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dennis was born June 8, 1947 in Ogden the son of George Willey and Mina Shurtleff Mitchell. He married Joan Ellis in the Salt Lake Temple on May 19, 1972. Raised in Clearfield, he resided in Concord, California for 31 years.

He graduated from Clearfield High in 1965 and earned a degree in biology at the University of Utah. He served an LDS mission to the Eastern States Mission. He was a retired IRS officer who attended the Northgate 2nd Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints in California.

Dennis is survived by Joan, his wife of 36 years; sons Ken (Brooke) and Brent (Tia) Mitchell both of Sterling, VA; grandchildren Aubri, Hannah, Zachary, Ashli, Ellie, Westin and Charlotte; brother Ron Mitchell and sister Carleen Hansen of Kaysville; sister Jana Leishman of Syracuse; and devoted dog Dexter. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lynette.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday August 16, 2008 at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main where friends may call Friday from 6-7 pm and 10:00- 10:45 am prior to services. Interment Farmington City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
