Dennis LeVon Neal rode gloriously back to Heavenly Father on August 26, 2024, to be reunited with family and friends for God's great roundup in heaven, after his short but courageous battle with that damn “C” word, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 28, 1941, in Brigham City, Utah, to John and VeLoy Neal. He was the 2nd of 9 children and raised in Ogden, Utah.
He chose to serve our country proudly in the United States Air Force. He married Paulette Larsen in 1977 and was blessed with two stepchildren, Vincent and Melissa Penley. Followed by two children of their own, MeLinda and John, who gave him great joy but also many gray hairs.
He was a member of the LDS Church and loved the Lord deeply. He loved all things outdoors and was the happiest on his horse with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, gathering cows, and roping. His real pride and joy were his grandkids, supporting them in their activities, taking them on adventures and their special talks. He was rough and tough but also the most kind and generous man. He was always willing to give of us his time and talents to anyone. He could fix or build anything with skill. He lived, fought, and loved fiercely.
Dennis is survived by his kids, Vincent (Kim) Penley, Melissa (Brad) Warner, MeLinda Reney, John (Alex) Neal; grandkids, Austin Bennett, Kashlyn Neal, Houston Reney, Rowen Neal, Slone Neal, Suttyn Neal; and a plethora of great friends and outlaws. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and VeLoy; his brother, Legrande Neal; his sisters, Kathleen Bauman and Nancy Jasso; and a couple of close friends, Charles Redfern and Jerry Sorensen.
We would like to give a special thanks to all our family that helped in this process and the great medical team that offered special care.
In lieu of flowers, please donate a small amount of time to your family, friends, and neighbors in acts of kindness.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd, where military honors will be accorded at 4 p.m. sharp by the Brigham City Honor Guard VFW 1695.
