Dennis Wayne Trotta

Dennis Wayne Trotta, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2016. He was born on November 28, 1938 in Ogden, UT, a son of Wayne Harbertson and Virginia Williams. Dennis was later adopted by E.R. “Duke” Trotta. He was a noble graduate of Ben Lomond High School and also on their Jr. ROTC Team.
Dennis was married to Carol Lepley for a short time and they had two sons. Dennis later found his eternal companion Linda Rae Aegerter and they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on March 29, 1968, for time and all eternity.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held many church callings. He was honored to be Bishop of the Ogden 71st Ward, where he spent most of his life surrounded by old and new friends.
Dennis started working at Ballard Supply and Whitehead Electric. In time he started his own business known as Denco Security, which he owned and operated for over 40 years.
Dennis enjoyed the great adventures of the outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, hunting, skiing, and riding 4-wheelers. Most of all, he loved being with his family especially each and every one of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda; his stepmom, Elta Trotta; sister, Cheryl (Brent) Bylund, North Ogden; sons, Steve Trotta, Clearfield; Gary Trotta, Ogden; Travis (LaShawn) Trotta, Plain City; and daughters, Trisha (James) Barnes, Farr West; and Tonya (Travis) Hall and Tara (Jeff) Vining, both of Plain City; 20 wonderful grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Wayne Hartbertson; mother, Virginia Trotta, and adopted father, E.R. “Duke” Trotta.
His eternal companion was always by his side through it all.
The greatest man we ever knew will be greatly missed. We love you and we look forward to being with you again.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Rock Cliff 7th Ward, 300 Gramercy Ave, Ogden. Friends may visit on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
