Denzil (Denny) Howell Hansen

Denzil (Denny) Howell Hansen, 91, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015.
Born in Logan, Utah son of Conrad L. Hansen and Majorie E. Howell. He lived in Logan until age eight, raised by his Grandma Howell, then went to live with his father in California.
He was educated in California, returned to Utah his senior year, graduation from Ogden High School and attended Weber State College.
In 1942 he met and married Alta Clarice Barker from North Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Denny entered military service in 1943, as an aircraft mechanic and was stationed with the 8 th Air Force in England. On December 5, 1945, he returned to civilian life and reunited with Clarice. He was Civil Service for 34 years, part of that time with the BoMark Missile Program. They lived throughout life in California, Florida, Idaho and Arizona. After retirement he loved to travel, fish and golf.
Surviving are his daughter Margo Taul, Layton; grandchildren, Lisa Ewing, Clearfield; Angelia Thurgood; Hans Thurgood, Layton; Jacqueline (Dan) Eldredge, San Antonio, TX; 10 great-grandchildren, two half-sisters, Coralou (Forrest) Miller, Kennewick, WA; and Rose Eaton, High Hill, MO.
Preceded in death by his wife, parents, half-brother Jerry Meacham and half-sister, Betty Hansen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
