Deran D. Cutler
SYRACUSE – Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Deran D. Cutler, 87, was touched by the angels and taken home on Saturday, February 2, 2008 in Washington Terrace of causes incident to age.
He was born April 20, 1920 in Preston, Idaho, a son of Samuel Parley and Mabel Martha Davis Cutler.
On August 9, 1941, Deran married Marva Neeley Stone in Franklin, Idaho. Marva preceded him in death on January 19, 1995.
He was raised in Preston, Idaho, moving to the Ogden area following his marriage. He then lived in South Weber for 40 years and in Syracuse for the past 11 years.
Deran retired from Hill Air Force Base after many years of service.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Deran loved farming, gardening, the annual Snake River trips, and most of all, caring for his children.
Surviving are four sons and four daughters, Rex Parley (Dawn) Cutler, Layton; David Reese (Lonnie) Cutler, Washington Terrace; Samuel Glen (Tammy Jean) Cutler, and Kevin Lamar Cutler, both of Ogden; Marva Lynn Goddard Corbin, Washington Terrace; Mabel Colleen (Charlie) Weaver, Clearfield; Sharon Garner and Kathleen (Ken) Parkinson, both of Hooper; 29 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Deran in death were his wife, parents, two sons, Deran L. “Sonny” Cutler and Steven Clair Cutler, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Preston, Idaho Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded.
