Derek Jon Bitton Derek Jon Bitton, 34, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. He was born on July 11, 1978 to Les and Lorna Yearsley Bitton in Ogden, Utah. Derek grew up in North Ogden and graduated from Weber High School in 1996. Derek was an amazing father and husband, well loved by family and friends. His smile would light up a room. Derek was the kind of person who he would serve and give the shirt off his back. He worked as a nuclear fuel fabricator for Westinghouse Nuclear for several years. Derek loved his cars, especially his 1927 Ford T-Bucket hotrod, guitars, and music. He enjoyed working with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program. He took pleasure in spending time in the outdoors playing his guitars around the campfire with his family and friends surrounding him. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. The family loved going to the comedy at the Salt Rock Coffee. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS mission in San Francisco. Derek is survived by his wife, Molly Fulton Bitton (daughter of Elizabeth Richards) of Harrisville; son and daughter, Beau and Daisy Bitton; parents, Les and Lorna Yearsley Bitton; grandmother, Ardis Yearsley; brothers, Jace Bitton and Chris (Heidi) Bitton; and sisters, Michelle (Blaine) Johnston; and Shanna (Richard) McMullen and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. A Celebration of Life will be held at Salt Rock Coffee, 270 East 12th Street in Ogden, at 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. following the services.
