Derek Paul Hinojosa

SODA SPRINGS / LAYTON - Derek Paul Hinojosa, age 21, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2008.

Derek was born January 8, 1987 in Soda Springs, Idaho; the son of Monty and Carol Hinojosa.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Derek had a big heart and loved little children as much as they loved him.

He enjoyed trap shooting with his grandpa and brothers. He also enjoyed camping and the great outdoors. This was enjoyed with his family and many friends.

He was his "Dad''s Best Friend." We all love him and he will be missed.

He is survived by his mother Carol, father Monty, step-mother Brenda, sister Misty (Harvey) Harpster, brothers D.J., Rudy and Jake (Kristin) McEntire, grandparents Laddy and Mary Dell McFarland, Paul Hinojosa, and Rex and Gloria Avis.

Preceded in death by his grandmother, Marlene Rodriguez.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
