Derlin Richard Hadley

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Derlin Richard Hadley, 92, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012. Derlin was born on December 18, 1919 in West Weber to Oscar E. and Verna Greenwell Hadley. He was raised in West Weber.

Derlin married Lorraine Margaret Skeen on September 15, 1939 in Ogden. They were later divorced. Derlin married Margaret L. Williams on November 30, 1996 in Ogden.

He served in the Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He worked at H.A.F.B. as an aircraft electrician until he retired in 1983. After retiring he was a transport driver for Ryder Truck Rental.

Derlin was a member of the Rushton Heights LDS Ward where he served in various callings.

He was a Good Sam''s Club member and made many good friends. He enjoyed helping with community service. He loved fishing, camping, and traveling. He was a wonderful handyman. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.

Derlin is survived by his wife, Margaret L. Hadley; sons, Duane Richard Hadley, Ogden; Randy Derlin Hadley, Brigham City; and Stephen Ray Hadley, Ogden; daughters, Gloria Jean Berrett, Layton; Judy Ann Holt, Spokane, WA; Debra Heslop, West Weber; and Candy Bushell, Ogden; 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Greenwell Hadley and sisters, Norene Surrage and Jean Brunson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Verna Hadley; sons, Brent Lynn Hadley and Edward Mark Williams; brothers, Theron and Ambrose; and sisters, Florence and Lavon.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to the medical staff 5th floor at McKay Dee Hospital and the love and kindness from Intermountain Hospice.
