Devon Smith Heise
CLEARFIELD – Devon Smith Heise returned to her Father in Heaven on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from lung cancer at her home.
She was born March 26, 1931 in Logan, Utah to Jesse Estes and Martha Ann Hansen Smith.
She was raised in Hyrum, Utah. She graduated from South Cache High School and attended two semesters at Brigham Young University.
On January 24, 1958 she married Donald Paul Heise in the Logan LDS Temple. As a life-long member of the LDS Church, she served in many different positions. She also served with her husband in the Salt Lake Regional Mission among the Japanese people.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Cachette Club. She served in the PTA and as an Election Judge.
She loved sewing, cooking, serving friends and her family. She exemplified true charity.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane (David) Knight, Ogden; two sons, Curtis Heise, Avonable, AZ; Evan (Lori) Heise, No. Ogden; six grandchildren, two brothers, Jesse Odell Smith, Don H. Smith and one sister Marguerite Smith Crockett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Ilynn Smith.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 17, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield 3rd Ward Chapel, 231 East 300 North. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
