Our loving dad, grandpa and brother passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012.
He was born on May 31, 1928 in Clarkston, Utah to Hyrum Dewey and Alice Jane Davies Griffin. He was raised in Clarkston and Logan, Utah.
Dewey Lynn served as an LDS missionary in the Southern California mission serving in Hemet, CA and Prescott, AZ.
He graduated from Utah State where he received a degree in Business Administration.
He was a Second Lieutenant in the Army and was stationed in France during the Korean War. Dewey Lynn married his eternal sweetheart Dorothy Simkins in the St. George Temple on June 25, 1960. He was a math teacher in several high schools before he was employed at Hill Air Force Base as a contracting officer (for 31 years). He was a faithful member of the Kaysville 1st Ward serving in many callings and as the ward clerk for many years. He enjoyed fixing things, gardening, scriptures, and his grandchildren.
Lynn was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, two sisters, and one brother. He is survived by his six children: David (Julie) Griffin, Deann (Taylor) Breeze, Aaron (Peri) Griffin, Amy (Kevin) Anderson, Cecelia (Rick) Ferrin, Sara (Martin) Woodland; 24 grandchildren, four sisters: Florence Butler, Audrey (Ed) Hutchison, Joyce Molyneaux, and Ruth (Trevor) Jones.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Tabernacle, 198 W. Center Street. Family may visit with friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main and Wednesday 9:30 to 10:30 at the church prior to services. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Family Tree Assisted Living and Hospice for caring for him.
