Dexter Ludwig Baumgart

Atlanta- Dexter Ludwig Baumgart, 63, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Dexter was born in Queens, New York on October 28, 1946 to Fritz Baumgart and Nora Lee Arnold.

Dexter loved learning and attended the University of Utah, graduating with a BS in Computer Science. His first few years in Utah, he met and married Linda Sherman on November 18, 1968. They have spent the last 41 years side by side. Dexter and Linda have four wonderful children.

Dexter was an avid learner, reader, and much to his children''s dismay, lecturer. He loved genealogy. While living in the south he visited cemeteries in search of maternal relatives, with much success. Dexter was loved greatly by his wife and family and will be sorely missed.

Dexter is survived by his wife, Linda Sherman Baumgart, and his children Abraham Baumgart, Jeremiah Baumgart, Rochelle (Damien) Bean, and Danielle Baumgart. He is also survived by his grandson Andrew Bean.

He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Marilyn (Nick) DeBenedictis, Ronnie (Marie) Baumgart, Roger (Lynda) Baumgart, Fred (Karen) Baumgart, Helen Grube, Byron (Diana) Baumgart, and many nieces and nephews.

Dexter is preceded in death by his parents Fritz and Nora Lee Baumgart.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday July 27, 2010 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., with a viewing for family and friends at 9:30-10:30 am prior to the services. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park.
