Diana Lichfield

February 9, 1971 ~ January 23, 2015

All in Grace and Beauty, Diana Lichfield, left her body to rejoin her father and friends, on January 23, 2015.  Diana was born on February 9, 1971, in Redwood City, California, and attended Kindergarten in Menlo Park, at Oak Knoll School.  From first grade to 1995, she lived in Ogden, Utah.  She attended Polk Elementary School and Mount Ogden Middle School, graduating from Ogden High School in 1989, where she enjoyed writing poetry, and was editor of the "Literary Harvest" magazine.

Diana majored in "Child and Family Studies" at Weber State College, where she formally developed her lifelong appreciation for little children by observing and writing about their playground interactions. Diana's astute and nuanced poetry expressed her love of little children and animals as well.

Diana pursued her love for animals on safari in Africa, initiated travel with family members to Alaska and Hawaii, and with student groups to France, Italy, England, Greece, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.  An independent soul, Diana was often heard to say, "Let's get out of here!" with a smile and a clap of her hands.  She was absolutely determined to actively engage the world, and her winks, jokes, offers to dance, and smiles were generously shared.

Diana moved from Ogden to Logan, with her mother, Lynne, around 1997.  Next they moved to North Logan before returning to beautiful Point Loma, California in 2007, where she was a "regular walker" at Shelter Island boardwalk, Liberty Station River Park, and Las Palmas Park; enjoying the mild weather, dogs, and people she'd meet each day.

Diana's best friend, mother, and lifelong companion, Lynne Rich, remains in Point Loma, California; as does her sister, Sara Alaia Lichfield. Her sister, Emily Lichfield Cannon and Kathryn Lichfield of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Aaron Rich Lichfield of North Logan, Utah, all remain to honor her memory, and emulate her example of a valiant, determined, and guilelessly successful life.  Her canine companions Wit, Sonar, and Mitzi, also remain in San Diego.

A service to share memories of Diana, for family and friends will be held in on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Diana's favorite, tan and yellow colors are preferred to gray and black attire for the event, as may be convenient to attendees.
