Diana Lynn Schroeder

May 7, 1948 — October 28, 2024

Diana was born on May 7th, 1948 to Paul Schaefer and Lois Stunkel Schaefer in Storm Lake, IA and spent most of her childhood in Columbus, NE.

She met and later married Sid Smith. Diana worked in accounting for various businesses throughout her career.

She was an avid reader, master scrapbooker, a collector of recipes and cookbooks, a passionate movie lover either at a theatre or watching Hallmark at home, and always had a Starbucks iced tea in her hand. She loved traveling and was always ready for the next adventure with her family near and far. Recently, Thursday was her favorite day of the week because she had a standing date with her grand-dog, Hank.

Diana passed away at home on October 28. She is survived by her 3 brothers; Mike (Linda) Schaefer; Tim Schaefer; & Scott (Brenda) Schaefer; stepdaughter Shawn Smith (Craig); three grandchildren; Alex (Wade); Shannon (Cameron) and Robert John as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Diana was preceded in death by her husband Sid Smith, parents Paul and Lois, her brother Gary Schaefer, her sister Karen Retzlaff, and stepdaughter Sheila Collard.
