Edna “Diane” Aguirre, age 77, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, surrounded by her daughters, Caryn and Angela, and other loved ones. She was born on July 14, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Edna May Pearson and Junior Richard White.
Diane graduated from Davis High School in Farmington, Utah, and went on to dedicate her life to raising her children. Her early career included working as a data entry clerk for Winder Dairy, followed by a position at National Semiconductor, where she began as a diffusion operator. Through her remarkable work ethic and adaptability, Diane mastered numerous roles, including sort operator, final inspection, and Engineering Aide, becoming known for her exceptional problem-solving skills. She later transitioned back to being a full-time mother, while also taking on occasional work and honing her skills in home remodeling.
Whether it was laying tile, hanging doors and drywall, or painting, Diane had an innate ability to tackle any home improvement project. She took great pride in transforming her homes in West Valley and Brigham City into spaces filled with warmth and character.
Diane had a deep love for art, especially oil painting, and enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. She found joy in simple pleasures such as camping, traveling, learning about history, and sharing her knowledge with others. Diane cherished her time spent with family and friends, and she often took her children to California to visit relatives, spend time at the beach, and enjoy trips to Disneyland and other exciting destinations.
On September 20, 1975, Diane married Luis Aguirre, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on January 8, 2000.
Diane is survived by her husband, Luis Aguirre; her sister, LaDawn Lords; her brother, Von White; daughters Caryn (Tim) Clark, Angela Stephany, Amy (Bobbie) Martinez, Gina (Jim) Kingrey, Tara Boyce; two stepdaughters, Johnni (Woo) Cutler and Antonia Nelson; a stepson, Jeff Aguirre; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Junior Richard White and Edna May Pearson; her sisters, Lynette and Brenda; her brothers, Kevin and Norman White; and her son, Steven Aguirre.
Diane will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary. A viewing will be held the evening prior, Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. at the mortuary, located at 727 N. 400 E., Bountiful, Utah. Interment Centerville City Cemetery
