Diane Lorelle (Evans) Aurich passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, September 12, 2013. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah December 9, 1937 to Ralph and Anna Evans. She was sealed to the love of her life, Jimmie Aurich, in the Salt Lake Temple in 1961. She was deeply loved and appreciated by all who knew and associated with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brother who have had a glorious reunion. She is survived by her dear and devoted husband, Jimmie; her mother-in-law Garnett Aurich; children James (Wendy) Aurich, Valerie (Don) Patton, Natalie (Jeff) Staples, and Melanie Sherrow; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in numerous callings and giving genuine compassionate service. She loved the Lord, loved to serve Him, and loved to compose poems and hymns in His praise.
Diane was a devoted mother and wife. She always put others'' needs ahead of her own. She never had an enemy. She said "hello" to everyone. She was very thoughtful, often calling many to wish a happy birthday. She loved hugs, especially from family.
She was very talented in spite of being legally blind most of her life. She played the piano and organ by ear for church, funerals, receptions, and other occasions, moving seamlessly from one song to another. She also wrote poetry and composed several songs. She was a wonderful seamstress, artist and homemaker, especially creating an atmosphere of love and peace.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield 2nd Ward, 1245 S. 1175 E. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Tuesday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
