Diane Umpleby Clark

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, Hilda Diane Umpleby Clark, age 65, passed away Friday, October 19, 2007 in Syracuse, Utah surrounded by her children and her sister.

She was born February 13, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William H. Umpleby Jr. and Hilda Hadfield. She lived in many parts of Utah including Layton, Kaysville, Fruit Heights and Syracuse. She also spent a year in Florida with her family. She graduated from Davis High School. She married Ronald L. Clark on March 22, 1963 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Diane loved being with her family. She was a great cheerleader for her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them grow and succeed. She also enjoyed being in the mountains, singing, reading and playing the piano. Some of her favorite places included Florida, Bear Lake, and the Teton/Yellowstone area. She was a wonderful friend, mother and a loving grandmother. She was always concerned about her family and her greatest concern at her death was the care of her grandchildren. As a faithful, lifelong member of the LDS Church, she served in various callings including Ward Organist, Primary Pianist, Primary Teacher and she served in various Relief Society and Primary presidencies. She was a member of the Davis Master Choral group for several years. Diane is survived by her children, David (Trisha) Clark, Alan (Julie) Clark, Chris Clark, Lisa Clark, Linda Clark, Valori (Rick) Miles, Caryn (Paul) Vandersteen and her 15 grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan, Jordan, Kelsey, McKenna, Austin, Tyson, Alexa, Madelyne, Tyler, Cayden, Noah, Jackson, Justin, and Brookelyne. She is also survived by one brother and four sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers.

We already miss you, Mom.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Syracuse LDS Chapel, 273 S. 2500 W. Friends and family may call Monday, October 22, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

We would like to thank Valori and Caryn for their help and concern during the last couple of months.
