DIANE MARGIE PURRINGTON
1953 - 2022
Diane Margie Purrington, 68 passed away on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022 in the home of her beloved brother. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and grandma; she will be sorely missed.
Diane was born in Vernal, UT on September 25th, 1953 to Dan and Margie Emeline Pierce. She attended Clearfield High School and then later Ogden High School. Diane grew up in Clearfield, UT with her older brother Ronald and younger sisters Karen and Shauna. She met her future husband and love Gary while walking down the street with her best friend Retta. Gary was cruising by in his ’56 Chevy and immediately pulled over to talk to her. He pursued her from then on until they were married on May 20th, 1969 in Roy, UT.
Diane and Gary had three boys: Brandon, Bryson and Skyler; and were blessed with eight grandkids and three great grandkids.
The family moved to Pocatello, ID in August of 1974 to work with Grandpa Wayne at Wayne’s Foodtown in Chubbock. When Grandpa Wayne retired, he turned Wayne’s over to Gary and Diane, which they ran until they sold it several years later. Gary and Diane also started their own business, Firefox Enterprises in 1980 and continued to operate that until their retirement.
Diane is survived by her husband, Gary Purrington; her older brother, Ronald Pierce; sisters: Karen Hamblin and her spouse Clair, Shauna Nye and her spouse Randy; her three boys: Brandon Purrington and spouse Cheryl, Bryson Purrington and his spouse Angella, and Skyler Purrington. She also is survived by her eight grandkids: Madison, Aiden, Evan, Brionna, Cheltzie, Dylan, Gunner and Mariah; and her three great grand kids: Adalyn, Octavia and Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial and viewing services will be held Sunday, February 6th, 2022 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N 400 E, Bountiful, UT from 6-8 PM.
A graveside service will be held in Pocatello, ID at 2:00PM on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S 5th Ave, Pocatello, ID for immediate family. It will be followed by a memorial service at the LDS ward building, 13979 West Siphon Rd, Pocatello, ID at 3:00 PM.
