Diane Eldeen Barnes Stanger
Diane Eldeen Barnes Stanger age 54, returned to her Heavenly Father on September 24, 2011, after having lived a life of devoted service to God and all mankind. Her death came as a result of complications from the ravaging disease of multiple sclerosis, which she endured with grace and dignity.
She was born into a loving family on September 27, 1956 in Ogden Utah. Her parents were Virgil Keldith Barnes and Eldeen Melissa Blain, who through word and deed taught her faith, hope, and charity for all; traits which she exemplified throughout her life.
She attended Morgan elementary and graduated from Clearfield High School, where she was an officer in the FHA, and on the seminary council.
Diane married her high school sweetheart and eternal companion, Jerry Lynn Stanger on September 7, 1976 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They made their home in Ogden, moving to South Weber in 1986 where they have lived since.
She was an active member of the South Weber 2nd ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she provided meaningful service in the Relief Society, Young Women''s, and Primary organizations, as well as serving as stake cultural art director. Her enthusiasm and work ethic were such as to inspire nearly all of those near her to want to improve their own lives, as well as to strengthen those around them. She truly lived the principle of charity.
Her service in the community included: PTA president at Polk and South Weber elementary schools, chairperson of South Weber Country Fair Days and many days service at Camp Loll for the Boy Scouts of America, another organization loved by her family.
She worked for the State of Utah at the Tax Commission, where she received the Administrative Employee of the Year Award. Later she transferred to the Division of Workforce Services. She was also a partner of Stanger Electric LLC, which she and her husband owned and operated.
She saved the best part of her devotion for her Savior, and that was best exemplified through her service to her family and friends, of which she considered everyone, one or the other. Her favorite things to do included camping, fishing, hunting, cooking and shopping with her daughters, and anything that involved being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, her children: D. Clark Stanger of South Weber, Melissa Diane (David) Reed of Ogden, Tonessa Marie (Spencer) Andreason of Layton, her mother Eldeen Barnes of West Point, her siblings: Paul (Paulette) Barnes of Morgan, Gloria (Jim) Anderson of Morgan, Kay (Mike) Wood of North Ogden, Judy (Scott) Arrington of South Weber, Barbara (Larry) Bell of Brigham City, Tammy (John) Moon of Ogden, Becky (Roger) Holgreen of North Salt Lake.
