Diane Meibos Wayment

Diane was born February 12, 1942 to Joseph Hyrum and Lola Gibson Meibos in Ogden, Utah. She was raised on a farm in West Warren, UT. She peacefully passed away from cancer on August 22, 2023. She attended school in Weber County, graduating from Weber High School. In her youth she loved riding horses, and playing sports.  

She met her sweetheart, Gene Thomas Wayment while riding horses. They were married on June 24, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with five children and were very involved in all of their activities. She loved her family and extended family and found joy in supporting, traveling, and spending time with them. 

She had a group of special friends she played games, attended the temple, and ate lunch with on a weekly basis. 

Diane was employed by Ogden City for over 30 years and made many good friends there.  

Diane touched many lives through special church callings, one being a fulltime missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the St. Louis Missouri Mission, many auxiliary callings, and most recently serving in the Ogden Temple. She was a faithful minister. 

Diane is survived by her five children, Laurie (Steve) Hales, Brent (Suzanne) Wayment, Lyle (Rita) Wayment, Joseph Linn (Michelle) Wayment, and Kory (Witney) Wayment. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; five siblings, Ray Meibos, John (Brenda) Meibos, Colleen (Mike) Bowman, Cheryl (Blaine) Gudath, and Janet (Jerry) Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her parents; brother, Eldon “Chub” Meibos; sister-in-law, Sherry Meibos; and Gene’s siblings and their spouses. 

We appreciate her nurse, Heather for her tender care. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 11 a.m. at the Warren Ward Chapel, 856 North 5900 West. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
