CLEARFIELD, UT – Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
Diann was born on July 28, 1944, in Weston, ID, to Serge and Bondean Benson. She loved her twin sister and all of her family. She graduated from Westside High in 1962. Diann attended LDS Business College and served an LDS Mission in Northern California. She worked as a secretary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Diann married Duane Hale on September 22, 1972, in the Salt Lake Temple. She became an instant mother to three daughters and later had three sons. She was married for 42 years and raised her family in Salt Lake City, but later divorced.
Diann loved people and was a friend to all. She loved music and she lived her life singing and dancing. She was a wonderful cook and spent many hours baking and cooking good meals for her family. Diann worked 17 years for Utah State Division of Rehabilitation. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in the Primary and singing in the choir. Most recently, she served as the Relief Society chorister.
For the past three years, she lived at Chancellor Gardens and made many friends. She liked participating in many activities, visiting other residents, and taking part in the music programs. She loved spending time with her family, especially her best friend and twin sister DeAnn.
She is survived by her sisters: DeAnn Redmond and Sheila (Randy) Anderson; brothers: Larry (Jeannette) Benson, Rick (Caroline) Benson and Brad (Maureen) Benson; children: Sandra (Ron) Jensen, Sherry (Tom) Miggin, Shelly (Norm) Abbott, Michael (Tomoko) Hale, Justin (Rebecca) Hale, and Kevin Hale; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Serge and Bondean Benson; siblings: Jacklyn, Debra, Shane, and Christine Benson; and brother-in-law: Spencer Redmond.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, 1895 S. Main Street, Clearfield. Friends may visit family Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Weston City Cemetery, Weston, Idaho, at 3 p.m.
Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
