We are sad to announce the passing of Dick Leo Talamantez a loving husband, father, and friend on December 3, 2023, in Layton, Utah. Dick Leo Talamantez was born January 9, 1934, in Brackettville, Texas to Babe O. Talamantez and Mary Eleanor Talamantez. The family later
moved to Idaho where Dick would spend the remainder of his youth. Dick moved to Layton, Utah after becoming employed at Hill Airforce base where he worked proudly until his retirement in 1988.
While working at Hill Airforce Base, he worked in Vietnam and met his wife of 50 years, Phung Kim Talamantez. Dick and Kim were married November 21, 1973. They would raise several children together and were lifelong partners.
Dick loved gardening and was often seen working out in his garden with his wife. He also loved dancing and singing. He enjoyed watching his kids play sports and trips to Wendover, Nevada. Dick enjoyed working out every day.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years; Phung Kim Talamantez. His children; Gail, Linda, Dixie, Brenda, Jeff, Dan, Rick, and T.J. His several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by; his son, Richard, his parents Babe O. Talamantez and Eleanor
Talamantez, his siblings; Alfred Talamantez, Homer Talamantez, Bob Talamantez, Gloria Ferguson, Roland Talamantez, Josie Craig, and Soelia (Hope) Lewis.
A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Layton Lindquist Mortuary on 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
