Dillon Prosser Ashburn, 69, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2007.
He was born April 21, 1938 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Neil Prosser Ashburn and Marjorie Berneda Winchester. He was raised and educated in Ogden. He lived in various places, including, Wyoming, Arizona and Hawaii, moving back to Ogden in 2001.
On July 16, 1960, Duke married Carmen Mae Carlson in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on June 28, 2000.
He was a member of Jehovah''s Witnesses.
Duke was a member of Bonneville Nationals Inc. where he recently was awarded "Man of the Year" at Bonneville Speedway.
He enjoyed cars, cars and more cars.
Duke is survived by three daughters, Dawnille (Carey) Sutherland, Kailua-Kona, HI; Courtney (Gabe) Shardelman, Kailua-Kona, HI; Monica (Bobby Ball) Chamberlain, Clifton, NJ; three grandchildren, Dalton Riddle, Tatum Shardelman, Camren Shardelman; two brothers, Greg (Marge) Ashburn, Randy (Annette) Ashburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carmen and a sister, Letitia McDowell.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, November 7th at 3 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
