OGDEN a" Dimple E. Brown Reddish Matthews, 84, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010.
She was born August 3, 1926 in Mercer, Kentucky to James W. and Pearl A. Shelton Brown.
Dimple married Verlin M. Reddish on January 15, 1945 in Alton, Illinois and moved to Ogden in 1949. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple in 1957. Together they raised eight children. They later divorced.
She worked for Deseret Industries where she met her current husband, Byron R. Matthews. They were married November 27, 1982.
Dimple was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in Primary and Mutual for several years. She was also a Visiting Teacher and Ward News and Notes writer.
Dimple enjoyed writing poetry, oil painting and gardening.
Surviving are her husband, Byron; her children, Linda (Bob) Trexler, Oregon; David Reddish, Draper; Kent (Carrie) Reddish, Mike (Sue) Reddish, Clinton; Ron (Rose Marie) Reddish, Ogden; son-in-law Paul Beckstead, Farr West; Jerry Reddish, Ogden; Sharon Kay Reddish, Clearfield; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and six step-children, Terry (Richard) Simmons, Payson; Linda Matthews, Payson; Robert J. Matthews, Ogden; Kim Matthews, Ogden; Loree (Ronald) Crummet, Boise, ID; Sallie Matthews Moran, Orem.
Dimple was preceded in death by her former husband, Verlin Reddish, one daughter, Carol Beckstead and one grandson, V. Chance Axton.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
