Dionne Lynn (Wilson) Ball of Syracuse, Utah, passed away at the age of 54, February 6th, 2025.
Dionne was born June 26th, 1970, in Bremerhaven, Germany, to William Julian Lichtenberg and Beverley Jane Shaw, the second of four children. The family relocated to Rexburg, Idaho after her father’s time in the military. After a brief stay in Rexburg, the family moved to Orlando, Florida where she spent most of her life until moving to Utah in 2006.
Dionne attended public schools in Orlando and graduated from Boone High School in 1988. After high school she attended Romar Hair Styling Academy and obtained her Cosmetology License.
Dionne married Mark Wilson and was blessed with a daughter Ashley whom she loved dearly. This marriage later ended.
Later on, through a series of events, she meets a small-town Idaho boy and began a different chapter in her life. On October 14, 2006, she married Kevin Wade Ball in the Salt Lake City Temple. Dionne and Kevin made their home in Syracuse, Utah where she called home until her passing. They were the parents of a blended family with three girls and one boy. Namely Ashley, Cara, Kelsie, and Mitchell.
Dionne worked at the Haircuttery in Orlando as a stylist for approximately 5 years before moving on to a career with AT&T in which she held various positions from a technical support representative to a retail sales consultant. In 2016 she switched her career to being a flight attendant for Frontier Airlines.
Dionne enjoyed life. Most important to her was her family. She always went out of her way to spend time with them and make sure they felt loved. She was quick witted and could produce a funny saying at the blink of an eye. Being raised in Orlando, Florida, one of her favorite things to do was visit Disney World and enjoy a quiet day relaxing on the beach. Dionne was a “girls” girl and enjoyed shopping, getting a manicure & pedicure and ensuring her hair and wardrobe looked exactly right before heading out the door. She loved to decorate her home and made it an inviting and comfortable place. Dionne loved people and would make friends wherever she went. She was a people’s person. She loved her career as a flight attendant. This allowed her to meet new people and visit places she had never been to before.
Dionne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She participated in the Young Women’s program in her youth and held various church callings later in life including a youth Sunday School Teacher, a Primary Teacher, and an instructor in the Relief Society.
Dionne is survived by her loving husband of 19 years Kevin; daughter, Ashley Wilson of Clearfield, Utah; stepdaughter Kelsie (Erik) Johnson of Spokane, Washington; stepdaughter Cara Ball of Spokane, Washington; stepson Mitchell Ball of Frankfurt, Germany; mother Beverley Lichtenberg of Rexburg, Idaho; sister LaDawn Ball of Tremonton, Utah; sister Debbie (Chad) Sanders of Middleburg, Kentucky and sister Laura (Damon) Simpkinson of Richmond, Kentucky. Also, many adoring aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father William, nephew Michael Ball, father-in law Wade Ball, and sister-in-law Suzanne Ball Christen.
Funeral services for Dionne will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15th, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 2679 S 1000 W., Syracuse, Utah 84075. Visitation for family and friends will also be held prior to the funeral at the Church from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.
Interment will be at the Lewisville Cemetery in Lewisville, Idaho. For those wishing to attend the graveside service. Please meet at 3:30 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, 101 Main Street, Lewisville, Idaho 83431. A funeral procession will lead from the Church to the cemetery. Following the graveside service, family and friends can meet at the Lewisville Community Center to visit and celebrate the life of Dionne. The Community Center is on the north side of main street directly across from the Church in Lewisville.
