Dixie Marilyn Nye Carruth

October 17, 1934 ~ November 3, 2015

NORTH OGDEN – Dixie Marilyn Nye Carruth, 81, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at McKay Dee Hospital.  Her family was her life, she was greatly adored by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she will be missed by all.

She was born on October 17, 1934 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Clyde Vasquez Nye and Bertha Annie Johnson.

She married Wallace Donald Carruth on November 28, 1952 in Elko, Nevada.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on January 17, 1963.

Dixie had lived in North Ogden most of her life.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many auxiliaries. She and Donald served two missions to Independence, Missouri and Hartford, Connecticut and in between their missions they served as ordinance workers at the Ogden LDS Temple for three and a half years. They also served as Stake Missionaries. She was always a missionary and loved to serve.  Everyone that knew her became a friend. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Dixie is survived by her son, Scott Donald (Rose) Carruth, Howe, TX; daughters, Diane Wilkinson, North Ogden; Marilyn (Mark) Lundgreen, Thatcher, ID; and Barbara (Jay) Jenkins, Plain City; 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren with three on the way;  brothers, Michael Nye and Phillip Nye; and sisters, Alice McGill, Nyla Petersen, and Susan Harrop.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Donald Carruth; grandson, Nathan Wilkinson; and brothers, Clydie Nye and Paul Nye.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
