Dixie Lou (Speth) Trewet

Dixie Lou (Speth) Trewet passed away peacefully July 2, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born April 14, 1940 in Logan, Utah to Rudolph and Alice (Kendrick) Speth, the only girl with six brothers. She graduated from Logan High School and worked at the LDS Genealogy Department and the IRS.
She married Howard Madison “Bud” Trewet, Jr. after a unique introduction in an Ogden bar and then eloping to Elko, Nevada on November 20, 1960. They lived in Ogden in the same house for 62 years.
She was a long-term member of the Ogden 59th ward of the LDS church.
They have two sons, Gary Howard Trewet (Tami Hull) of South Ogden, Utah and Craig Madison Trewet (Jelene) of Renton, Washington. They are blessed with six grandchildren, Brittany Nichol (Steve) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Tyler Trewet (Leah) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Tanner Trewet of Las Vegas, Nevada; Madison Trewet of North Bend, Washington; Lt. Parker Trewet, US Marine Corp at Camp Pendleton, California; and Conner Trewet of Renton, Washington. They also have four precious great-grandchildren, Bronson Trewet, twin girls Samira and Sandara Trewet, and Clair Nichol.
She is survived by one brother, DeVon (Bertha) Speth and two other special sisters-in-law, Diane and Bonnie.
She was preceded in death by brothers Lynn, Ken, Tony, Jack and Bud Al.
We wish to thank the special caretakers from Canyon Home Care and Hospice.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
