Dixon Robert Hunt

March 16, 1942 — February 15, 2025

Emblem

The world lost a wonderful man on the morning of February 15, 2025. Dixon Robert Hunt, better known as Rob or Bob, left this world for a better place. Bob was born on March 16, 1942, to Kenneth and Wanda Hunt in Ogden, Utah. He was the second of four sons. He grew up in Ogden and attended school there until he enlisted in the Army in August of 1960 where he moved up from Private to Sergeant. After leaving the military, Bob attended Weber State University.

Bob married Diane Gladwell on February 6, 1964, and together they had a daughter and four sons. They later divorced.

Bob worked for TRW and Boeing Aerospace for over 30 years as a graphic artist. While working at Boeing, management immediately recognized his talent in portraiture. They had him paint portraits of upper management and employees who were retiring from the company. Bob was an exceptionally talented artist and spent many years creating portraits and outdoor scenes. Bob also performed as Doodles the Clown for a period of time including caricatures in his shows.

Bob loved the outdoors and in his younger years enjoyed taking his kids hiking and camping. He worked hard to instill an appreciation of the beauty of the earth and the nature that surrounded them. He raised his kids to learn from their mistakes by quietly watching them with a close eye and a big heart.

In May of 1996, Bob married LeAnn Weight and added two daughters and son to his family.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Wanda Hunt and two brothers, Kenneth and Blair Hunt. He is survived by his wife, LeAnn, his children, Robert Hunt (Frank Biochi), Heidi Black (Cary), Rory (Angela), Matt (Alison) and Jared Hunt Kendal (Dorian Kendal); stepchildren, Colby Weight (Brian Fredericks), Alexis Weight (Zach Hansen) and Shaun Weight (Katy Fay), eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
