Dolores Estellita Valdez

Our loving daughter, sister, wife and mother, Dolores Estellita Valdez passed away at her home Friday March 6, 2015 after a near three-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Ogden, Utah to Fermin and Emma Martinez on October 18, 1954.

Dolores married Wilber Valdez on October 8, 1977 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and they were married for 37 wonderful years. They were blessed with two daughters, Trina and BreAnna.

What mattered most to Dolores was her family and she enjoyed spending time with them.  She also loved shopping, travelling and attending concerts with her husband and daughters. She was a natural at her favorite hobby, interior design, and loved to decorate her home.  Dolores had 18 wonderful years working at Iomega. She then worked for Nex-One at HAFB for 10 years, she also worked at GE for 10 years. She was a devote Catholic and parishioner at St. Rose of Lima Catholic church and prayed the rosary daily.

Dolores is survived by her husband Wilber Valdez and daughters Trina and BreAnna, parents Fermin and Emma Martinez, In-laws, Alfonso and Rachel Valdez; siblings Cathy Martinez, Jeffrey Martinez (Linda), Gina Medina (John), Shellie Deschamps (Scott), Kareen Lomeli (Gerald), Brian Martinez; 7 nephews and 11 nieces.

Dolores’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Carl Gray and his staff Marissa, Wanona, AnnaBeth, Glenda and Sara for their care and compassion. Our family agreed with the saying that hung in their office, “nurses are our angels”.

Dolores was loved tremendously by her family and friends and will be eternally missed. She has been described as sweet, thoughtful and kind. She was a giving person who always put the needs of others first. Her smile was infectious and noticed by all.
