Don Guy Baxter

Don Guy Baxter passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his home in Layton, Utah with his wife by his side.

He was born on March 8, 1926 to George Arnott Baxter and Mabel Louise Gibson.

Don served as a Medic in the Navy at the age of 17, during World War II.

Don worked has a plumber and pipe fitter.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, golfing and painting landscapes.  

Don married Dorthy Joyce Miller on November 9, 1950.  They had two daughters, Dianne Dawn Baxter, Idaho Falls, ID and Judy Ann Baxter, Layton, UT.  Dorthy died in 1971.

Don married June Whitesides Adams on November 13, 1976.  Children, Ann Williams, Boise, ID; Val (Wanda) Adams, Layton, UT; and Jane (Matt) Tezak, Layton, UT.

He has eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He is survived by his brother, Larry Fred Baxter, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lauren Ray Baxter and William Boyd Baxter.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of hospice.

The family wishes to express thanks and gratitude to Sunny and Ryan for their excellent care of Don.

Per Don’s request there will be no funeral services.
