Don A. Clark

WEST HAVEN a€" Don Abe Clark, 82, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at his home in Ogden.

He was born September 27, 1927 in Duchesne, Utah, a son of William Julius and Pearl Hatch Clark. He loved Vernal where he was raised.

On January 6, 1951, Don married LaRee Redford in Duchesne. Their marriage was solemnized on June 22, 1974 in the LDS Temple. LaRee was the love of his life and gave him six children.

Don served his country during World War II.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various callings including Scoutmaster and Bishop.

Don worked for Hill Air Force Base for 34 years as an aircraft mechanic and inspector.

He was a master of all trades. He taught his children and their spouses many things. He lived a full and active life. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hunting and meeting his friends at Moore''s CafAC.. Don loved the outdoors and passed that love down to his children. He felt most alive by a lake up in the mountains and fishing on the boat with his wife LaRee. Even being out in his yard brought him joy. He loved his children and grandchildren so very much. Don was a true cowboy who worked hard his whole life. He was organized and never procrastinated a day. He believed in God and held strongly to his beliefs and convictions. He was strong and kept fighting up to the very last second he was here on earth. He will be dearly missed. We are all grateful that he is at peace and reunited with his loved ones who have passed before him. Now he can do all the things he loved once again. Oh the joy they must all have to see their dear brother, son and friend again. Dad had a great sense of humor a€" he loved to joke and tease anyone around him. He was always singing his own little tunes, with his personal and clever lyrics: "My sufficiency has been suffonsified".

Surviving are his wife of 59 and a half years, LaRee, of Ogden; six children, Thomas Abe (Catherine) Clark, William Von (Cindy) Clark, Shelley LaRee (Alan) Payne, Sandra Lee Clark, Shauna Lyne (Bryan) Crowell, Susan Leslie (Jason) Tams, 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Arlean (Ed) Stewart and Delora (Darwin) Oaks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Von, Gerald, Lyle and Sheldon Clark, his sisters, Elva, Elizabeth and Delilah, and grandsons, William Von Clark, Jr. and Sheldon Thomas Clark.
