SUNSET a" Don Wm. Halls, 87, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, returned to his Heavenly home Monday, February 7, 2011.
Don was born in Monticello, Utah to Earl and Anna Eliza Halls, and the 5th of eight children. He married Barbara Joan Hayward in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He attended school in Morgan, Utah and then enlisted in the Army as a military policeman. He served in the U.S. and Oran.
Don received a blacksmith apprenticeship from Weber College and worked in his father''s shop in Morgan. He also operated heavy equipment and helped build many of our Utah roads. He worked for 30 years for Davis County School District as Superintendant of Shops. He was a "Jack of all trades" including electrician, carpenter, mechanic, plumber, heating equipment and solar energy.
He was also an artist, gardener and inventor. His friends and family called him "Mr. Magic".
Don and Barbara lived in Yuma, Arizona after he retired. Then they lived in Roy and Sunset, Utah.
Don is survived by his wife, one son, Perry Wm. (Shauna) Halls, two daughters, Lori (Brent) Mitchell, and Linda Perry. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
We wish to thank the helping hands of Country Pines, Washington Terrace Nursing and Symbii Hospice.
Graveside services will be Friday, February 11, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 East Crestwood Road.
