Don Sidney “Sid” Johnson WASHINGTON TERRACE - Don Sidney “Sid” Johnson of Washington Terrace passed away February 23, 2008 at McKay Dee Hospital. Sid was born March 15, 1935 to Andrew and Mary Burnett Johnson. He was raised in Smithfield, Utah. Sid met Jackie Rider on the dance floor and they married June 3, 1954. They had three children, Michael, Cindy and Troy; six grandchildren, Piper, Morgan, Logan, Tad, Kala and Derek and their puppies, Moto and Ellie. Sid was a hard worker. He worked for Wangsgard Construction, Parsons Construction. He and Ken Nimori formed their own company, Asphalt Paving Corp. in 1978. Sid loved sports, basketball and baseball. He loved fishing with Mel at the pond. Golf became his joy in life. He had many good times spending time at the cabin in Wyoming and helping his son Troy in his motorcycle business. In later years Jackie and Sid traveled in their motor home, going to Arizona, meeting many special people from Helena, Montana, and Independence, Missouri. They also traveled many miles to Canada and Alaska on their big fishing trip with their friends Mel and Ina. Surviving are his wife, Jacquelyn; daughter, Cindy Rogers; son, Troy (Cari) Johnson; brother, Dell (Mary) Johnson, Mary Lou Downs and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his son, Michael; his parents, mother and father-in-law, Farrell and Martha Rider three half brothers, Lavar Moon, Dean Moon and Frank Moon and sister, Clois Johnson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, Ogden. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
