Don Gaylen Morgan
1919 ~ 2009
The family of Don Gaylen Morgan expresses appreciation and love for a respected husband, and loving father and grandfather. Don passed away on October 14, 2009.
Don was born in Millcreek, Utah to Orrin Porter Morgan and Verena Clayton on September 5, 1919. While growing up, he enjoyed wonderful times with his sister, Dixie Covington; and three brothers, Steve, Ernie, and DeMar. He graduated from South High in 1936, and married Leah Brown on June 20, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of four children: Linda Gay (Kelly) Newman, Don Lee (Paulette) Morgan, Martie (Roger) Richins, and Ramon B. (Lori) Morgan; and grandparents of 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Don worked many years in government service, and as the Farmington City Recorder. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many Church positions, including several bishoprics. Don enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with family, especially at Red Fish Lake. He liked to fish, hunt and golf. He also played the piano and loved classical music. Don especially loved traveling with his sweetheart in their trailer, and enjoyed the company of many friends.
Heartfelt thanks to Utah Hospice, and dear friends and neighbors, who have made our journey a beautiful one.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law, Kelly, and grand-daughter-in-law, Stephanie.
