“King Tut” passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2013 doing what he loved most. This Korean War Veteran was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, animal lover, and the “World’s Greatest Truck Driver.” Don was born July 19, 1929 in Honolulu, his motto, P.R.I.D.E. (Personal Responsibility in Daily Effort) was evident in all he did. He had a deep love for family, friends, music, the Jazz and his Big Rig.
Don is survived by 6 children, 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, son, grandson, mother and father. The family would like to thank trooper Daniel C. Wyrick, Scott Becker, Doug Andrus Distributing and the hundreds of members of his “trucking family.”
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Bountiful 16th Chapel, 720 E. 550 N. Bountiful under the direction of Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary. Friends and family may visit from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. We would like a convoy of truckers to head the procession to the cemetery after the service. All welcome, bring your rigs. That’s a big “10-4, good buddy.” Interment will be Bountiful City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
