Dona Wilson Haws

April 19, 1930 — February 22, 2025

Ogden

Dona Arlene Haws passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Dona grew up in Ogden City, Utah, alongside her 13 brothers and sisters. She attended Ogden City Schools, where she met the love of her life, Lee Gilbert Haws. They married on January 30, 1948, and together built a beautiful life, raising five children: David Lee Haws (Katherine), Lewis Cleon Haws (Linda), Linda Renee Andrade, Diane Louise Wade (Jeff), and Lisa Ann Frazier (Edward).

For over 30 years, Dona worked at the Best Western High Country Inn, where her dedication and warm personality earned her recognition and awards. She was the heart of every gathering, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went. She loved nothing more than having her grandchildren running in and out of her home, sharing stories about their day.

Dona took great pride in planting vibrant flowers, making her home colorful and beautiful. As a young girl, she cherished trips to Liberty, where she spent time with her sisters, family, and friends.

She was unmatched when it came to washing, polishing saddles, boots, dying gloves to match the cowboy hats and getting the horses to shine, always ensuring everything was perfect for the competitions. She dedicated countless hours supporting her daughters in their horse events and cheering on her grandchildren in their activities. To her children and grandchildren, she was their biggest supporter, best friend, and guiding light.

Dona was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, all 13 siblings, son-in-law Jeff Wade, granddaughter Lori Folkman, and great-grandson Jensen Barker.

Mom, you will be sorely missed and forever loved.
